OHMI's CPD Training Options

OHMI has built a portfolio of CPD training options and other sessions that we can provide to a range of musical groups from Music Services to individuals and community groups.  Please take a look at the brochure for further details. Some sessions can be delivered online, while others benefit from the face-to-face experience where equipment can be handled.

We are happy to explore bespoke options if you cannot see what you are interested in.

OHMI Teaching Research Findings

Since 2016, Birmingham City University have been working with OHMI to report on the Music-Makers programmes  and explore the process and factors relating to teaching of the instruments.

The OHMI’s Music-Makers programme began life as the OHMI Teaching Pilot.

OHMI Conference 2018

The OHMI Conference in 2018 brought together current multi-disciplinary research with, among others, the experiences of disabled musicians, teachers, charities, funders, and government agencies.

Presentations at the 2018 Conference made strong references to the “social model” of disability and many disputed assumptions that disabilities of any kind necessary limit musicianship.

Donate to OHMI

There are so many disabled people who are desperate to play music with their peers. We can help to make that happen – but we can only do that with the wonderful support of our funders and donors.

As our instruments have to be hand-made by experts, they can only be produced in small numbers and are therefore expensive.
You can read more about why OHMI’s support is needed and the impact your donation could make to a disabled musician here »
Every little really does help.
